Bronze Sponsors $250
We need your help to raise $8,000 by Mid-December!
Please donate to the 2014 Norwell Town Skating Rink. We are raising funds to build a town skating rink at the Pine Street Fields. We hope this rink will become a gathering place for all Norwellians in the winter. We need your help to raise $8,000 by mid December in order to get the rink built and installed before the ground freezes this year. We will open the rink around Christmas time and close it mid to late February, weather depending. We plan to have the rink lit at night so children can skate after school. There will be no hockey allowed on the rink, so even the youngest skaters feel welcome. This rink is for Norwell, by Norwell. The more support we get, the better it will be. We, as a town, are responsible for its maintenance, cleanliness and safety. If we abuse it, they might not let us back next year. How can you help? You can simply donate here (or send a check to PO BOX 65). Or you could join one of the groups below: The Friends of Norwell Town Skating - This group will help with the management, fundraising and overall details surrounding the rink and its upkeep. The Hosers - This group will be responsible for daily rink maintenance. We will create a schedule so that we have one or two people responsible for the rink each day it is open. If it is your day, you'd visit the rink in the morning. Check the ice and surrounding area, clear the ice of any snow or debris and hose it down to create a smooth new layer. We are hoping we'll have a large enough group that one would need to hose once every two weeks. This group would also help set-up and break down at the beginning and end of the season. Please contact Susannah Baxley at susannahbaxley@gmail.com or Sarah McDonald at sarahkmac@gmail.com for more information or if you would like to join one of our groups. We thank on our sponsors. Please contact Susannah or Sarah if you would like to become a sponsor. |
